Pink Ribbon Month

Pink Ribbon Month is a grassroots effort between the San Antonio Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure and local churches, temples, synagogues, mosques and chapels to educate the members of their respective congregation on breast health and breast cancer.

Pink Ribbon Month is held each May by
Latinas for a Cure, a committee of the Komen San Antonio Affiliate. Trained Latinas for a Cure volunteers are assigned to speak during a Saturday or Sunday service and congregations are addressed in either English or Spanish.  Each woman receives a free breast self-exam card and gift on behalf of Latinas for a Cure.

Pink Ribbon Month, May 2008

Thank you to all our volunteers that helped Komen, Latinas for a Cure and The Witness Project make Pink Ribbon Month a huge success!  In May, with their support, we shared the message of early detection in saving lives with approximately 3,300 women.

On Tuesday, May 27, 2008, Bexar County Commissioner Sergio "Chico" Rodriguez proclaimed May 2008 as Pink Ribbon Month at Commissioner's Court.
