Latinas for a Cure, a committee of the San Antonio Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, is sponsoring a Business Honor Roll to reward employers who allow their employees to attend breast health medical appointments (i.e., clinical breast exams, mammograms) without penalty such as pay deduction, loss of privilege, or any other negative consequence.

Participation in the Business Honor Roll is free to all employers, businesses and organizations. Employers will benefit through increased employee loyalty, turnover decreases and employers win free advertising in a powerful market. The Business Honor Roll program is designed to stress the importance of early detection of breast cancer and to alleviate the worries some women have of taking unpaid time off from work for their breast health appointments. The program will encourage both employers and employees to support each other when it comes to taking care of their health.
